MERGE opened its doors in the spring of 2006, with its first store at The Shops at Legacy, in Dallas, Texas. The company is the inspiration of Alana Israelson, former manager of the Laundry by Shelli Segal boutique in New York's SoHo, the Men's Department of L.A.'s Fred Segal and most recently the American Apparel stores across the entire New York region.
